This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The Hopeless Diamond was a stealth aircraft proposed by the American Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in the 1970s. At the time, DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) awarded research contracts to five American aircraft manufacturers for stealth fighter aircraft. In response, Lockheed's development division, Skunk Works, proposed a polygonal, angular aircraft designed to reflect radar only in specific directions. Believing that the diamond-shaped aircraft, designed specifically for stealth, would not provide sufficient flight capability, Skunk Works gave the aircraft the pessimistic nickname "Hopeless Diamond." However, an improved version of this design, known as "Have Blue," was produced, and further refinements from this prototype lead to the development of the F-117 Nighthawk, the first operational stealth fighter in history.
This completely new kit from Mikro Mir is based on the concept of "what if the Hopeless Diamond really took to the sky?" The kit includes photo-etched parts, a paint mask sticker, and decals for one U.S. Air Force version. Order this unusual aircraft for your own collection today!
