Product Details

This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The Lexington was originally planned as a battle cruiser, but due to disarmament treaties, her design was changed to that of an aircraft carrier, and she was commissioned in December 1927. She survived the attack on Pearl Harbor at the start of the war; in the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942, the first battle between aircraft carrier task forces in history, Lexington and Yorktown sank the aircraft carrier Shoho and severely damaged the Shokaku. However, Lexington herself was severely damaged by the attack forces of Shokaku and Zuikaku, and she was sunk by torpedoes from the U.S. destroyer Phelps.

This 1/700-scale model kit from Pit-Road is a joint development with Trumpeter, and can be built as a waterline or full-hull version. The kit recreates the ship's appearance in 1942, after the 20cm guns were removed and her anti-aircraft armament was strengthened with the addition of 28mm quadruple machine guns and other upgrades. Includes 12 F4F fighters, 12 SBD dive bombers, and six TBD torpedo bombers. Place your order today!
