The Mamiya was completed in July 1924 and a food supply ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She was in service to be part of the Navy's operations in the Pacific. On Dec. 20, 1944, she was torpedoed and damaged in the South China Sea, and sunk on the 21st by USS Sealion.
